Bug fixes

  • 3DHISTECH MIRAX (.mrxs) slides saved with JPEG XR, as newer Pannoramic scanners can do, now open: SlideScope reads them itself where the standard slide library refuses them.
  • When a MIRAX, VMS or VMU slide will not open, the problem report now includes the size and number of files in the slide's data folder, so a missing or incomplete copy is recognised faster.

Feature updates

  • 18 more file formats, each with its microscope settings: Olympus VSI, OIB and OIR, Zeiss ZVI and LSM, Leica LOF and XLEF, DeltaVision, MetaMorph STK and multi-dimensional .nd runs, Hamamatsu NDPIS, OME-Zarr (including HCS plates), and PNG, JPEG, JPEG 2000, BMP, GIF and WebP images.

Improvements

  • The Details panel now shows what each file records (objective, lasers, detectors, exposure, filters, real channel names and colours), and time points and focus positions come from the file.
  • Plate wells, Leica tile scans and MetaMorph stage positions can be stepped through or seen together in the XY Overview.

Bug fixes

  • Leica SCN and Ventana BIF slides that would not open now do, Hamamatsu NDPI slides compressed with JPEG XR open, every page of a multi-page TIFF is reachable, and each scan region of a slide is measured at its own pixel size.
  • Includes everything in 1.9.15.

Bug fixes

  • Hamamatsu NDPI slides whose internal tile index is off now open instead of failing with "Restart marker not found": SlideScope finds the image data in the file itself.
  • If part of a slide's image data really is damaged, SlideScope now says so and asks you for a fresh copy instead of showing a technical error.

  • A new finish line for the free preview: when your 5 free images are used, SlideScope shows what the full version adds and takes you straight to your free trial.

Bug fixes

  • Your last free preview image no longer shows "preview complete" by mistake when SlideScope was closed right after the image before it opened.
  • Opening an image you already previewed, for example with a double-click, no longer shows the "preview complete" message first.
  • Signed in with free preview images left, you no longer see "preview complete" by mistake right after an image is refused.

  • A sample slide now comes with SlideScope: choose Open a Sample Slide to explore a real H&E slide free.

Improvements

  • SlideScope starts faster, and on Windows the installed app now launches in a few seconds.
  • When a file cannot be opened, SlideScope now explains why and what to do, for example that an MRXS slide needs its companion folder.
  • The Microsoft Store version now includes the free preview.

Bug fixes

  • On Mac, a downloaded update no longer asks again and again: it waits until you choose to install it.
