Feature updates

  • AI Analysis now runs on Claude. It names the stain or imaging type, uses the image's pixel size for scale, says where each finding is, points out artefacts such as tissue folds, and suggests what to check next. You confirm the updated privacy notice once, before your next analysis.
  • When a file opens, a short tip shows something you can do with it, such as switching channels, stepping through Z or time, measuring with its calibration or seeing every scene. Close a tip and it stays closed; turn tips off in Settings > Appearance.

Improvements

  • Export as TIFF writes large whole-slide images at their full scanned resolution, even when the slide is too large to hold in memory, reading it in parallel so even very large slides finish in minutes. The confirmation says exactly how many pixels the file will have.
  • If your trial or subscription ends while you are working, the image you have open stays on screen; tools and new files lock until access returns. Offline access ends on schedule, even if the computer's clock is changed.

Feature updates

  • After an image opens, SlideScope tells you what it just did, for example "Opened a 1.2 GiB, 40,000 × 32,000 px slide in 0.4 s, on this computer".
  • On the free sample images, a Try this tip suggests a feature that suits the image, with a Show me button that does it for you.

Improvements

  • Error messages are written in plain language and say what you can do next, instead of showing technical codes.

Bug fixes

  • Mac App Store: slides in folders you allow, including MIRAX (.mrxs) slides with their data folder, and Safe Copy to a folder you choose are handled more reliably.
  • Microsoft Store: plan prices show correctly, Start free trial opens the Microsoft Store purchase window, a purchase that cannot complete says why, and signing in brings you back to the app.
  • Diagnostic logs and support reports no longer include the names of your folders.

Bug fixes

  • Stepping through the focal planes or slices of a free sample image is smooth again, and the free sample library responds instantly.
  • With Check for updates automatically off, an update you check for yourself now finishes downloading after an interrupted download.
  • If the free sample library could not load, for example offline, opening it again now tries again and tells you if it still cannot.
  • After a notice, the status bar shows your account line again, such as whose shared slide you are viewing.

Improvements

  • SlideScope checks your plan, the free sample library and the free preview more strictly, so what each allows always matches what SlideScope's servers confirm.
  • Required security updates now install even when Check for updates automatically is off; the setting still holds back optional updates.

Bug fixes

  • Access to subscriber tools now follows your trial or subscription exactly: it ends when the trial or paid period ends, and the free sample library and images shared with you are checked before they open free.
  • On Windows, closing SlideScope right after it opens no longer leaves it running in the background.

Feature updates

  • The Home now shows what you can open: when SlideScope finds microscopy images on your computer, it counts them by format and folder, right on your computer (nothing is uploaded), and starts your free trial in one click.
  • SlideScope Plus is coming to the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store: the app's store purchase screen lets you choose Standard or Plus, and Standard subscribers there can upgrade to Plus.

Feature updates

  • The built-in sample library is free, with every tool: measuring, notes, regions, comparing slides, export and Quantify work on every sample, with no limit, and new samples let you try aligning serial sections, a 10-channel multiplex, a time-lapse, nuclei counting, Hamamatsu NDPI and a de-identified chest CT. AI Analysis and cloud sharing come with a subscription.
  • Opening your own images or folders starts the 3-day free trial, and you choose Standard or Plus by what each plan includes: $0 today, then the plan's price unless you cancel (PayPal or card).
  • Open the CT, MRI or X-ray scan on a hospital CD or USB stick: each CT or MR series opens as one scan, CT has soft-tissue, lung, bone and brain presets, distances measure in millimetres, and Copy this scan to your computer keeps a copy of the disc. Viewing only, not for diagnosis. AI, Quantify, sharing and cloud are off for medical scans, and their notes stay on your computer.
  • Leica LIF projects open every image they hold, not only the first.

Improvements

  • Sharing is simpler: the Share dialog asks one question, whether to share a clean copy, and keeps the other settings under Options.
  • While a share link is made you see its progress, in the dialog and on the toolbar's Cloud button, and you can stop it with Stop sharing.
  • Without a subscription, paid tools stay visible with a lock and show how to get them.

Bug fixes

  • Opening Share again while a link was still on its way could report that the clean copy didn't upload, although the link was created; it now follows the share in progress.
  • Text no longer gets cut off in dialogs and panels at larger text sizes and display scaling.

Feature updates

  • Slide quality check: Analysis > Check Slide Quality finds out-of-focus areas, pen and ink marks, clipped brightness and missing tiles and marks them on the slide, and a folder check gives a sortable report with the slides to rescan. It runs on your computer.
  • Share safely: share links and File > Save a Safe Copy use a clean copy without the slide label photo, the overview photo and identifying details, and your original stays as it is.
  • Align serial sections in Compare: the compared section turns, mirrors and scales to match the first, with Blend, Swipe and Outline overlays to check the fit.
  • Make a figure: channel panels, a Z or time montage, or regions, with panel letters and a calibrated scale bar at journal sizes, plus a Methods paragraph and legend written from the file.

Improvements

  • Go Back and Forward between slides, scenes and folders with your mouse's side buttons, Alt+Left and Alt+Right, or Cmd+[ and Cmd+] on a Mac.
  • Set the pixel size of an image that has none or a wrong one, and every measurement, scale bar and export uses it; the view can also be rotated and flipped.
  • A share link can carry your notes, regions and measurements, read-only for the people you share with.
